Career Video Surprises

The first video I watched was for a lawyer. I wasn't really surprised at any of the information given because it was relatively routine, for example they mentioned long and irregular hours, i had already made that assumption. The second video i watched was for a paralegal/legal assistant. i was a little more unsure about all of what was entailed with this career therefore i heard more things i didn't know would be apart of this job. I learned that paralegals mainly do the same things as lawyers do aside from a few things such as being able to try cases in court. i learned that they are in no way allowed to give legal advice either. Thirdly i found that they do a lot of work for the lawyers such as writing up reports for them and researching things for them. The third video i watched was for a legal secretary. I was a little more surprised at this video than the other two. I found that legal secretaries are the ones to get paper work such as subpoenas and motions ready. i knew they handled paper work but i didn't know they handled those types. I learned that they sometimes spend hours in law libraries doing things such as citing quotations. I also saw that legal secretaries are very important to a legal team, i knew they were important but i didn't realize how much work they really do and how indispensable to a legal team they really are.
I don't feel like my work ethics survey "guided" me towards any certain career; it gave me a better idea than i had before though. I basically looked through the choices of possible careers it gave me and looked more into what sounded interesting. The first thing i looked at that i actually had an interest in was a paralegal. that was one of the careers i chose to do my career plan on. I also chose a trial lawyer to do. I did the trial lawyer for an education plan because that in particular caught my interest. My career cluster at first didn't match what i "wanted" but because I didn't really have a great idea of what i wanted to do anyways, I just sort of went with it. And it also occurred to me that my results weren't the end all, be all of figuring out what career I want. I guess the main selling point on my number one career was that I'd be able to be involved in cases in court but i wouldn't get to, to involved in the politics of lawyers, yet I'd still have a real good taste of it. I chose the colleges i did because they are located in places i would want to be. I chose University of Toledo because i liked the program description and as i mentioned before, i could see myself staying in this place- at least for my college years. I chose a college in Georgia because i would really like to relocate myself down south at some point. I honestly to see myself in the scenario I've created with my colleges and career choice so far. I might change my mind at some point in time but for right now this seems like a total possibility for me.

My Movie Project

My favorite part about the project was watching everyone's end results. A lot of people had some very funny creative videos.
I don't really have a favorite part of my video...I didn't get to quite finish): My project just ended up frustrating me more or less unfortunately.
The most challanging part of my video was finding pictures. I had so much trouble finding pictures that would work for my book.
If i could change something about my project i would have been a little less picky about the picture choosing process. That really created some problems for me...for example: being short on time to finish at all...
Overall I disliked the project. I think I dislike it because I, persoanlly, had some trouble with it. Maybe if i had choosen a different book or something i would've enjoyed the project a little bit more.

In 10 years...

In 10 years I see myself 25 nearing 26 with some type of college degree, and a budding carreer. I plan to go to college for at least 4 years. I'm not sure what occupation i quite see myself having yet though. So far im thinking something along the lines of a genetecist or some sort of psychology/sociology.
In 10 years I also see myself married and thinking about kids when im 27-28 or so- after having established a sound financial plan. I would like to be living somewhere south of MI & OH most likely after graduating college depending on where i end up going to school. As far as what type of house, etc., etc., I'll have at that time, that doesnt much matter to me as long as me and whoever I'm with at the time is happy.
